Asia has been one of the fastest growing regions for collections in recent years, with high rates of digital revenues in many of the region’s markets. The region has two of the most rapidly-developing markets in the world, China and India. From 2020, COVID-19 has had a disastrous impact on collections.
As of May 2020, CISAC had 29 member societies in Asia-Pacific. This region currently comprises 13% of our global membership. In Asia-Pacific, 19 author societies focus primarily on the management of rights in musical works, 4 in visual arts, 2 in literature and 4 in audiovisual.
CISAC's Regional Director for Asia-Pacific is Mr Benjamin Ng.
