The International Council of Music Creators (CIAM) held its Executive Committee meeting in Belgium today, reviewing a full year of activity and planning further developments in global projects, including Fair Trade Music.

In addition to Executive Committee members, special guest renowned composer and songwriter Shunichi Tokura and Chairman of Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers (JASRAC) attended the event.

The meeting saw update reports from the various alliances across the world and was an opportunity to discuss issues at hand, including the EU Copyright Reform and the planned creation of a new alliance in the Asia-Pacific region.

Members then gave final approval to the new CIAM bylaws and voting procedures.

An update was presented to CIAM members on the 'Creative Copyright Working Group', with further information on the CIS-Net and Fair Trade Music projects.

Back in October 2014, the CIAM Congress endorsed Pierre Lalonde's study on 'Fair Compensation in the Digital Age', calling for higher standards of transparency and fairer allocation of revenues in the digital age.
