Expand your knowledge of copyright in creative industries with CISAC and FutureLearn MOOCs starting February 3rd

The two free online courses from CISAC and FutureLearn, Copyright and the Business of Creative Industries and Exploring Copyright: History, Culture, Industry, are open for enrolment for the latest online course sessions. Both MOOCs (massive open online course) start Monday, February 3rd.

The courses are open for creators of artistic works of any kind, producers, broadcasters, digital service providers, publishers, professionals and anyone involved or interested in creative and cultural industries. They are available in English.

In Copyright and the Business of Creative Industries, learners will examine the role of copyright in the creative and cultural industries. It explains how copyright rules are applied and the flow of economic benefit between creators, rightsholders and users of creative works. The MOOC is accredited by Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as conforming to continuing professional development principles.

Industry leaders and creative industry professionals will share their knowledge from authors societies, record labels, visual arts, audiovisual and other creative sectors.

Exploring Copyright allows learners to discover how creators and authors earned their protections to receive remuneration for their works. It examines how authors’ rights contributed to economic growth and international trade. Learners will also explore how changing technologies have influenced authors and efforts in receiving remuneration throughout history.

A certificate of achievement signed by CISAC University and issued by FutureLearn.com is available upon choosing to upgrade and successfully completing the course for either MOOC.
