Writers & Directors Worldwide Executive Committee Meets in London

The Executive Committee of Writers & Directors Worldwide (W&DW) has convened in London for a two-day working session hosted by Directors UK.

The meeting began with an update on the situation of authors rights for audiovisual creators in India, China, Nigeria, Senegal, Poland, and Latin America, as well as an overview of the meeting activities of Directors Guild of Canada (DGC), Writers Union of Canada, International Authors Forum, Screenwriters Guild UK, and Authors Society.

The Executive Committee worked on its two-year strategic plan, with a particular focus on the communications strategy for The Audiovisual Campaign on fair remuneration for screenwriters and directors, which was officially kicked-off at the last W&DW Congress in Beijing, China.  CISAC is also considering to commission an academic study on this issue.

The meeting concluded on the preparation of important upcoming meetings, including the W&DW Open ExCo in June in Paris, CISAC’s General Assembly and the next W&DW Congress in September.
