Launched on 14 October 2014 in the Cineteca Nacional in Chile, the campaign Action! is getting closer and closer to a successful conclusion. On 10 August, the Senate in Chile unanimously passed a bill that would grant an unwaivable right to equitable remuneration for screenwriters and film directors. At the initiative of ATN, this bill also received its name: the Ricardo Larrain Law. Ricardo Larrain was an awarded Chilean film director who led the movement for writers and directors, who passed away in March.

In the discussions prior to the vote, all political sides supported the unwaivable remuneration right without exception. It was received as a sign of justice and the first step towards increased protection for writers and directors in the digital era. ATN Vice President Silvio Caiozzi quoted that it would provide democracies fair treatment to writers and directors in a way that will encourage them to create for the benefit of all countries and all peoples.

Following the expected endorsement, the Minister of Culture announced the intention of the President of Chile Michelle Bachelet to enact the Ricardo Larrain Law in a ceremony during the upcoming Valdivia Film Festival in October.
