CISAC conducts comprehensive identifiers and metadata training for Latin American and Caribbean music societies
CISAC organised a specialised identifiers and metadata training session for its member music societies in Latin America and the Caribbean. The workshop which took place on 7 and 8 March in Santiago de Chile, targeted sixty professionals responsible for the documentation and distribution processes within their respective societies.
Representatives from CISAC and Spanish member society SGAE delivered insightful presentations on standard identifiers and metadata including CISNET, ISWC, AVI, LATINNET, among other regional subjects.
The program was structured to maximise engagement and learning. It blended theoretical knowledge with practical application, alongside panel discussions that allowed for a lively exchange of ideas and questions between the participants and speakers.
In his concluding speech, Rodrigo Osorio, Vice President of CISAC's Latin American and Caribbean Committee and President of the Chilean Society (SCD), underscored the strategic importance of such training. He noted that enhancing the expertise of societies’ staffs is fundamental to the efficient management of creators' rights, ultimately benefiting the wider creative community in the region.
